Update on Pittsburgh forward Kevin Kenny

December 13, 2013
The NA3HL would like to keep everyone up-to-date on the progress of injured Pittsburgh Vengeance forward Kevin Kenny. Kenny sustained a severe spinal cord injury during a hockey game on Saturday, November 16, 2013. Kevin is a forward for the NA3HL's Pittsburgh Vengeance. Kenny a veteran of the squad, since 2011, has remained a leader both on and off the ice especially for his teammates this season.

To date, over $42,000 has been raised for the Kevin Kenny fund. You can donate here

Family friend Renee Heininger offers the following update:

This week was an exciting week.  We had LMS Greenhouse donate a live tree to the Kenny family and some of the Vengeance players delivered the tree to the Kenny home yesterday.

We also had a contractor stop forward to handle the paving of the Kenny's driveway for Kevin's homecoming.  The company will do it as a donation!  Another day that Santa Claus came early!

We have some upcoming fundraising events on our calendars:

December 20th - Tailgate Party prior to Cleveland Lumberjacks game - The owner of Andora has stepped up to donate the food for the tailgate.  He is a Sewickely resident and was more than willing to help.  We also have paper products, soda and water.  We have a cake being donated as well as wine and beer.  So if anyone has a favorite side dish they want to bring that would be great to add to the evening.

All gate fees for the December 20th, 21st and 22nd will be donated to the Kevin Kenny Fund.

We will have 7KennyStrong rally towels for all people in attendance (while supplies last).  Should be a great event!

We want to pack the house.

There was some incorrect information on the internet, it is being fixed and will be relaunched.  We will also reach out to other area youth hockey organizations, I have invited the Pens Foundation and will send an personal invite to Pitt as they donated over $1,000 last night from their gate fees, 50/50 and merchandise sales.

We also are scheduled to have a Pancake Breakfast on January 4, 2014 from 8 am - 11:30 am.  The boys have a game that evening at home at 5:40 pm vs Cleveland so I am hoping they can help us in the morning.

We are looking for volunteers to help set up, cook, work the merchandise table and help us clean up.  Please let me know if you are interested.

It will be at the following location:

Sewickley United Methodist Church
337 Broad Street
Sewickley, PA  15143

We will be launching an online ticket sale site to do pre-event ticket purchases.  Once that happens, I will send to everyone.

Again, I want to thank each of you and the players.  Everyone's support by volunteering, delivering trees, doing inventory of merchandise, etc., has been overwhelming, much needed and much appreciated.

Looking forward to many more great things!
