Topeka Capitals 8 @ Sugar Land Imperials 3 - The Topeka Capitals used a five-goal second period to put away the Sugar Land Imperials, 8-3. Topeka struck first in the 1st period with a goal from Georgy Ostapchuk. Topeka added on five more goals in the 2nd period from Austin Petrie, Georgy Ostapchuk’s second goal on the night, Trenton Faber, and pair of goals from Nolan Stanley. Sugar Land’s lone goal in the 2nd period came from Cole Sharrah, and then came out in the 3rd period with a pair of goals from Matthew Winkle. But, only to be countered by a Topeka goal by Benton Deanovich and another Topeka goal from Nolan Stanley to round off his night with a hat trick. Mike McElroy made 33 saves for Topeka on 36 shots. Sugar Land goalie Colton Anderson had 36 saves in the loss to Topeka. Topeka takes the sweep in the 2-game series, another two game series between Sugar Land and Topeka is set to begin on Saturday.
