Bulls forward Santopoalo makes NCAA commitment

May 22, 2014

North Iowa Bulls and NA3HL Top Prospects forward Tim Santopoalo has chosen Aurora University (NCHA, NCAA D3) to continue his academic and hockey development.

Santopoalo, from Roscoe, IL. was a prolific scorer for North Iowa recording 216 points in 114 career games played on 94 goals and 122 assists.

In 2013-14, he was selected to the All-NA3HL 1st Team and also played in the 2014 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for Team West, where he recorded seven points in three wins.

"When you look at the production that came from Tim it's easy to see he is a great player.  What doesn't show up in the numbers are the leadership qualities that Tim took on in his second year with the Bulls," said Bulls head coach Todd Sanden. "Tim matured not only as a player but also as a person in his time with the Bulls. Tim can take great pride in his efforts that have helped the Bulls become one of the top teams in the country at this level."

Santopoalo joins Bulls team mates Conor Jonasson and Ron Lindgren at Aurora.  "It took me a little longer to make a decision because I had some really good opportunities from playing with the Bulls but Aurora just felt right and I get to play with guys I have played the last two years with.  I am looking forward to it," commented Santopoalo.

"Tim was the type of player that made my job fun and I have enjoyed watching him grow as a person and develop as a player," said Sanden.
