NA3HL announces Divisional Stars of the Week

September 9, 2014

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Easton for the week ending September 7, 2014.  The divisional stars of the week is an award given each week of the regular season to the top performing players in each of the four divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.

Central Division Star of the Week: Chance Homerin, forward, Peoria Mustangs

Veteran Peoria Mustangs forward Chance Homerin, 18, had a good weekend as the Mustangs opened up with a weekend home split with the Chicago Jr. Bulldogs. On Saturday, Homerin (6’0/180) factored in on both goals as he scored and had an assist in a 3-2 loss. On Sunday, the Pekin, IL native scored the game-tying shorthanded goal with just over five minutes remaining as the Mustangs beat the Bulldogs, 3-2 in a shootout.  “Chance worked his tail off in both games and it paid off in a couple of big goals,” said Mustangs head coach Tyler Rennette. “At this time of year, you need your veteran players to be your best players and that’s exactly what Chance was for us this past weekend.”

2nd Star: Sean Smalley, forward, West Michigan Wolves

East Division Star of the Week: Cody Black, forward, Pittsburgh Vengeance
