The La Crosse Freeze proud members of the NA3HL will open their 2014-15 season against the Peoria Mustangs at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 at Green Island Ice Arena. The Freeze host Peoria again at noon on Sunday.
This is the first season for the Freeze in La Crosse. Coulee Region Chill (NAHL) owners Michelle and Kevin Bryant purchased the former Flint (Mich.) franchise this past off-season.
The Freeze are coached by Ryan Egan, a former assistant coach at Saint Mary’s (Minn.) University who also brings experience at the high school, Midget AAA and Junior A levels.
La Crosse’s inaugural roster includes three local players. Forward Taylor Trapp is a West Salem High School graduate and forwards Caleb Blank and Tyler Ebner will play for the Freeze before and after their senior seasons at Onalaska High School.
Forward Jacob Drinkard, defenseman Brit Brothen and goaltender Andrew Wagner have joined the Freeze after leading Flint to a 42-4-2 record and runner-up finish in the NA3HL Silver Cup playoffs last winter.
