October 9, 2014
The Point Mallard Ducks of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Matt Goodman has been called up to the NAHL to play for the Springfield Jr. Blues this weekend in their three-game home series against the Keystone Ice Miners.
Goodman, 17, is a big 6’3/210 lbs. defenseman from nearby Huntsville, Alabama. Last season, he played for the TPH Thunder 16U team, recording one goal and one assist in 34 games played.
He was also selected to take part in the 2014 USA Hockey Select 17 festival where he had two assists in five games for Team Gold.
So far this season with the Point Mallard Ducks in the NA3HL, Goodman has two assists in five games and is also a +4. Both of his points came during his first weekend in the NA3HL when Point Mallard swept Sugar Land.
Goodman is listed as an affiliate player for the Jr. Blues this weekend, which means under USA Hockey rules he can play up to six regular season games for Springfield under the affiliate program.
