Top Prospects Tournament gets underway today

The third annual Sherwood/NAHL Top Prospects Tournament kicks off today (Monday, January 18) at the Ice Cube in Ann Arbor, Mich.

The event, which will be held from Monday through Wednesday, will feature all-star teams from the NAHL's Central, North, South and West Divisions competing in a three-game, round-robin tournament.

“We’re anticipating a great three days of hockey,” said NAHL commissioner Mark Frankenfeld.  “The scouting presence for this event has been outstanding the last two years, and we’re expecting more of the same this week.”

Nearly 30 players who participated in last year's Top Prospects Tournament earned scholarships to Division I schools.

All games can be viewed live over the Internet via B2 Networks. Each game can be viewed for $7.  The games are available for viewing here.

The Top Prospects jersey auction, which includes all player jerseys from the Central, North, South and West Division teams, is already underway and will close on Monday, January 25, with the bid for each jersey starting at $200.  Bids can be placed here.
