Topeka forward Opack gets call to the NAHL

December 2, 2014
Topeka Capitals and NA3HL first-year forward Tre Opack has made a huge impact in his brief tenure in Topeka. His outstanding play has earned him the opportunity to advance and play for the Coulee Region Chill of the NAHL's Midwest Division.

"Tre was up here with us last weekend for practices and did very well," said Coulee Region head coach AJ Degenhardt. "We are excited to work with him for a little more time and see what this opportunity develops into."

Opack is second on the team in points (27), second in assists (16), third in goals (11), and third in plus/minus (+13). He has also tallied two game winning goals which tie him for the team lead in that category. Opack's absence will leave a big hole to fill for the Caps offense, but it is yet another example of the team's commitment to moving players forward to the next level of play.

"We are excited for Tre to earn this opportunity at the next level," said Caps head coach Anthony Bohn. "His play has been increasing since the season has started and this stint will only help his process."

The Capitals will be moving on to play in the NA3HL Showcase starting this Sunday in Blaine, MN.
