NA3EHL announces Easton Hockey Stars of the Week

December 18, 2014
The North American 3 Eastern Hockey League (NAHL) today announced the Offensive and Defensive Stars of the Week presented by Easton Hockey for the week ending December 14, 2014.  The Stars of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2014-15 regular season that honors the top performing players, both offensively and defensively.

Offense: Ignat Molchanov, Maine Wild
Ignat Molchanov (Moscow, Russia) led the Maine Wild to a 3-Win weekend, scoring a goal in each game and totaling 5 Goals & 5 Assists.  During the first game vs. Cape Cod the shifty forward had 1G & 2A, including the game tying goal with 38 seconds remaining to force Overtime.  He also scored during the Shootout to help secure the extra point in the 6-5 win.  Ignat scored the Wild’s 1st goal in an eventual 5-2 win over Cape Cod on Saturday.  He continued his torrid weekend with 3 goals & 3 assists in a high scoring 9-5 win over the East Coast Minutemen.

Defense: Tyger Howat, Jersey Shore Wildcats
Tyger Howat (Brighton, MI) led the league’s American-Born Top Prospect to Blaine, MN for the NA3HL Showcase.  He started the 1st game vs. defending Silver Cup Champion North Iowa and made 31 saves in a clear upset win for the Eastern All-Stars.  Tyger started game 3 vs. Granite City Lumberjacks.  He gave up 3 goals against and made 37 saves in a 4-2 loss…providing the team with a change to steal another game.  He was clearly the teams star performer at the Showcase.
