Gongshow Flow of the Month winner for December announced
The holidays are a special time. Players get into the holiday spirit with their teammates, usually with some fun community events. They also get a few days off to share in the spirit with the families. However, it is also about hallway through the season and by now, their flow is at full force. It is also cold out, so there is no way better than to cap off 2014 with some holiday flow that makes Christmas a little merrier and the New Year a little happier.
With that said, the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) announced its Gongshow Flow of the Month winner for December 2014.
The winner this past month is goalie Darien Jones from the Twin City Steel.
Jones, an 18-year-old goalie from Monticello, Minnesota, is in his first season in the NA3HL and first season overall playing junior hockey. Prior to this season, Jones played high school hockey in Minnesota for the Monicello/Annandale/Maple Lake team.
This season, Jones (5’10/180) has played in seven games to date for the Steel. He has posted a 3-3 record with a 3.80 goals against average and an 87.6% save percentage.
Jones made his last start at the NA3HL Showcase in December against the Sugar Land Imperials, which turned out to be a 4-2 win for the Steel where Jones made 19 saves. He also made a relief appearance in the 4-2 loss against Point Mallard, where he stopped all 14 shots that came his way. In his last 73+ minutes of action, Jones has only been scored on twice.
Jones picked up the win this month, not only because of his textbook flow, but because of nice incorporation of props used in his submission picture. First, Jones chimes in with a nice flow complete with the side wings that resemble the 3-4 months of growth that have passed by since the season started. Just has a nice all-around 70’s poof to it complete with side part to the right in the front. It almost has ‘The Dude’ look from The Big Lebowski.
Then in the second picture, Jones adds the nice winter hat to give it even more effect. He also plugs his NA3HL team, the Steel, and no doubt will earn him some bonus points. Plus, it does nothing but enhance the nice wings and curl along the side.
It is a great look worthy of being the Flow of the Month and for his efforts Jones will be receiving a Gongshow Gear hat! It should look great with the winged-flow pouring out of it.
