Bighorns move into 2nd place with road win

Cleveland 1 @ Southern Tier 5 - Despite having to fight off several power plays, the Southern Tier Xpress were able to defeat the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks, 5-1. Southern Tier was led by Tobias Gabrielsen, who tallied one goal. Gabrielsen scored on the power play 17:17 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Southern Tier. The Xpress had gained a power play chance when Nathaniel Schwartz was whistled for tripping. Brandon Desrosiers picked up the assist. Southern Tier also got points from Desrosiers, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Elijah Williams, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Aleksandr Koshelev, who also registered one goal and one assist. Cody Maulsby also scored for Southern Tier. Other players who recorded assists for Southern Tier were Jake Andriaccio and Luke Sunde, who contributed one each and Justin Andriaccio and Brian Grant, who each chipped in two. The Jr. Lumberjacks were led by Aaron Schmitt, who scored the team's only goal. Schmitt scored 5:49 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Southern Tier. John Barlow provided the assist. Cody Gibson recorded 19 saves for the Xpress.
 
Helena 5 @ Bozeman 2 - Blake Babineau had two goals to lead the Helena Bighorns to a 5-2 victory over the Bozeman Icedogs. Babineau found the back of the net short handed 10:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Helena and again while on the power play 14:57 into the second to make the score 3-1 Helena. Helena also got points from Kyler Chartier, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Helena included Brandon Mills and Brian Skillicorn, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Helena were Brandt Miller and Matt Mohar, who each chipped in one and Kendall Bolen-Porter, Gavin Lubin, and Johnny Bonta, who contributed two each. Bozeman forced Helena goalie Alex Kruger to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. The Icedogs were helped by Devin Panzeca, who finished with two goals. Panzeca scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 5:51 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Bozeman had gotten the advantage when the Bighorns' Lubin was sent off for tripping. Steven Nisbet picked up the assist. Panzeca's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Helena with 1:38 left in the second period. The Icedogs had taken the advantage when Helena's Bryan Knesel got sent off for roughing. Ryan Erickson assisted on the tally. In addition, Bozeman received assists from Quinn Thibeault, who had one. Alex Kruger made 29 saves for the Bighorns on 31 shots.
 
Breezy Point 3 @ Alexandria 5 - The game between the Alexandria Blizzard and the Breezy Point North Stars was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Alexandria emerged with a 5-3 win. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and AJ Gullickson's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker. The Blizzard were led by Gullickson, who registered one goal. Gullickson scored on the power play 18:52 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Alexandria. An elbowing penalty on Coleton Anderson had put Alexandria on the power play. Tommy Hall assisted on the tally. Alexandria also got points from Logan Norman, who also finished with one goal and one assist, David Becker, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Tom Schmidt, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Alexandria also got a goal from Tyler Berginski as well. More assists for Alexandria came via Tyler Sworsky, Luke Pavelich, and Bo Gronseth, who each chipped in one. The North Stars were helped by Jordan Carey, who grabbed one goal. Carey scored 8:55 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Breezy Point also had goals scored by Crosby Steen and Brooke Evans, who scored one goal each. In addition, Breezy Point received assists from Jack Anderholm, who had one and Ryan Herbert, who had two. Tanner Elmore recorded 37 saves for Alexandria.
