La Crosse defenseman Hall makes NCAA commitment

April 14, 2015
The La Crosse Freeze, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that defenseman Travis Hall has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at Lebanon Valley College.

“I am extremely excited for Travis and his commitment to Lebanon Valley College.  He is really going to enjoy his time at LVC and Coach Parsons will be proud to call him a Dutchman,” said Freeze head coach Ryan Egan.

Hall, 20, was a late acquisition for the Freeze from the Dallas Jr. Stars.  In 10 regular season games with La Cross, Hall (6’1/175) had four points and had a goal in two playoff games.

While with Dallas earlier in the season, the native of Keller, Texas, had 28 points in 32 regular season games played. Before being traded to La Crosse, Hall was selected to play in the 2015 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the South Division team.

Back on October 14th, Hall was also honored as the South Division Star of the Week.

“At the trade deadline he was looking for a playoff team that could help expose him to college programs.  We were looking to add depth on the back end and someone who would fit in well in our room,” said Egan. “We are proud to say that both sides seem to be happy with the outcome.  Travis is a great young man and has a bright future as a student athlete at Lebanon Valley.”

Lebabon Valley will return to NCAA status in 2016 and will also add an NCAA women’s team. "The addition of women's ice hockey is a natural fit for Lebanon Valley College with our already-established hockey base," said Director of Athletics Rick Beard '90 M'92. "With a proven winner in Coach Parsons and his extensive domestic and international relationships, now is the right time to launch our women's program and transition the men's team back to NCAA Division III."

Lebanon Valley's men's program competed in NCAA Division III from its inception in 1998 until 2010, when it joined the American Collegiate Hockey Association's Division I. In five seasons since, the program has compiled a .558 winning percentage with frequent appearances in the national top-25 poll, ranking 22nd last week. LVC has qualified for postseason play in each of the last three seasons, including the last two seasons in arguably the top league in the ACHA, the Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League (ESCHL).
