Gillette forward Mitzel makes NCAA commitment

The Gillette Wild organization of the NA3HL is proud to announce that forward Bryce Mitzel has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at Finlandia University. Finlandia is coached by former NAHL coach Dane Litke.
 
Mitzel, 21, just completed his final season in junior hockey, which spanned over three seasons in the NA3HL and AWHL. Mitzel (5’9/170) had his best career statistical season this past season as he recorded 39 points in 46 games played for the Wild. 
 
Mitzel also was selected to a played in the 2015 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the Frontier Division team, where he recorded two points in two games played.
 
"Playing college hockey was Bryce's goal from the day he showed up in Gillette. He is a shifty, skilled forward who will fit extremely well into Coach Litke's system at Finlandia," stated former Wild GM/Head Coach Tom Winkler.
 
Mitzel, from Rapid City, South Dakota is also a former player under new Wild Head Coach Brendon Hodge. In his time with the Wild, Mitzel  played in 71 games, collecting 30 goals, 36 assists for 66 points. He was also a plus 23 with 50 pim's. 
 
His NA3HL/AWHL career spanned three seasons with the Wild and Alexandria Blizzard.  In 122 career games, Mitzel had 92 points, including 40 goals.
 
"This is a great opportunity for Bryce, we are extremely excited for him and his family," stated Winkler.
