RoadRunners' Hennig to Ferris State

June 12, 2007

The Topeka RoadRunners are pleased to announce that forward Nate Hennig has reached an agreement to play for Ferris State University (CCHA) beginning in the fall of 2007.

"Nate is a strong skater who makes his presence felt around the net," reflected RoadRunners head coach Scott Langer. "He brings a solid mixture of hard work ethic combined with good hands and a nose for the net. He'll do well at the next level."

The two-year RoadRunner veteran hails from Macomb, Mich., and playing at Ferris State allows him to play closer to home, and that means closer to his family.

"It was hard sometimes, being so far away from (brother) Dom and my Dad", said Hennig. "I'm grateful that my experience with the RoadRunners helped me to prepare for Division I. It's a dream come true."

Hennig is now the sixth member of this years RoadRunner squad to commit to a Division I program, preceded by Tibor Kutalek (Alaska-Fairbanks), Jason Krispel (Univ. of Connecticut), Rafael Rodriguez (Robert Morris University), Nick Hopper (University of Nebraska - Omaha), and Cody Omilusik (Army).
