NAHL names Kyrias director of sales and marketing
The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has announced that Alex Kyrias has been named its director of sales and marketing.
Kyrias will oversee all league corporate and business partnerships and collaborative marketing efforts. In addition, he will be responsible for developing creative elements and broadcasting initiatives.
“Alex’s familiarity with our league, as well as his experience in the minor-professional ranks, will be a tremendous asset as we continue to expand on our sales and marketing efforts throughout North America,” said NAHL commissioner Mark Frankenfeld.
No stranger to the NAHL, Kyrias served as the director of communications and radio/Internet play-by-play voice for the Texas Tornado from 2002-07.
In 2007-08, Kyrias worked for the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL as its director of public and media relations and play-by-play voice before joining the Iowa Chops the next season as the American Hockey League (AHL) team’s vice president of communications and play-by-play broadcaster. Last year, Kyrias served as the vice president of sales and marketing of the International Hockey League’s (IHL) Quad City Mallards.
Kyrias holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Communications from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. He and his wife, Dory, reside in Frisco, Texas.
The NAHL, the only USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier II Junior A league boasting 25 teams from across the country, prides itself on the social maturity and skill development of student-athletes ages 16-20 with aspirations of advancing to collegiate and/or professional hockey.
