Former Ice Dog Reichard named All-American

April 14, 2010

Four former North American Hockey League (NAHL) players were named to All-American Teams by the American Hockey Coaches Association.

Among those chosen was Miami University (CCHA) sophomore goaltender Cody Reichard, who was selected as a Second Team West All-American.

The CCHA Player of the Year, Reichard was the national leader in goals-against average (1.87) and winning percentage (.788/19-4-3), while ranking ninth in save percentage at .921. In conference play, Reichard was 15-0-2 with a 1.23 goals-against average.

Reichard was named the NAHL Most Valuable Player in 2007-08 as a member of the Fairbanks Ice Dogs after leading the league in wins (33) while fashioning a 2.05 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage in 51 regular-season appearances.

Other graduates to be named All-Americans include: Boston University junior defenseman Colby Cohen (First Team East); Wisconsin senior forward Blake Geoffrion (First Team West); and University of Denver forward Rhett Rakhshani (First Team West).

All three played in the NAHL as members of the U.S. National Team Development Program.
