Friday Finals: Islanders get big road win against Fighting Spirit

Cape Cod 2 @ L/A Fighting Spirit 1 - A stellar performance between the pipes by Anton Zemba helped Cape Cod defeat Lewiston/Auburn, 2-1. Cape Cod was sparked by Steven Mathews, who tallied one goal. Mathews scored on the power play 5:51 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Cape Cod. Eric Szeker provided the assist. Cape Cod additionally got points from Szeker, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Cape Cod were Dylan Legarie, Mike Jessman, and Chris ODonnell, who contributed one each. Lewiston/Auburn was led by Brett Bittner, who scored the team's only goal. Bittner scored on the power play 15:17 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Mark Ferullo picked up the assist. Zemba rejected 29 shots on goal for Cape Cod. Claes Endre recorded 29 saves for Lewiston/Auburn.

Lockport 3 @ Jersey Shore 6 - Behind a great game by Scott Hansen, who had two goals and two assists, Jersey Shore defeated Lockport, 6-3. Hansen found the back of the net 11:42 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Jersey Shore and again while on the power play 18:37 into the second to make the score 4-1 Jersey Shore. Jersey Shore additionally got points from Jared Karas, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Frederic Ampleman, who also registered one goal and one assist. Freddie Schaljo also scored for Jersey Shore. Other players who recorded assists for Jersey Shore were Dylan Plsek, who had three and Christian Cooley, Zach Roth, Frederic Villeneuve, Bogdan Khvatov, and Tyler Goclan, who each chipped in one. Lockport kept Jersey Shore's goalie busy throughout the game, and Breadan Colgan made 31 saves on 34 shots. Lockport was helped by Christopher Gasiewicz, who had one goal. Gasiewicz scored 5:22 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Jersey Shore. Justin Durkee picked up the assist. Lockport also got points from Durkee, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Lockport also got a goal from Jordan Pocobello as well. More assists for Lockport came via Mark Friol, Brendan McFall, and Devin Kasperek, who contributed one each. Tim Schiess rejected 47 shots on goal for Lockport.

Skylands 7 @ Northeast 3 - Skylands' Alex Linquito had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 7-3 win over Northeast. Linquito beat Trevor Trudeau with a shot 18:00 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Skylands. Kevin Perry picked up the assist. In the losing effort, Northeast was sparked by Conor Harrington, who tallied two goals. Harrington scored the first of his two goals at 17:26 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Northeast. Perry assisted on the tally. Harrington's next tally made the score 3-1 Northeast with 18:30 left in the second period. Reed Mancovsky picked up the assist. Skylands additionally got points from Matt Sinatra, who also had one goal and one assist and Hunter Ledwith, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Skylands also got a goal from Cole Skelly as well. More assists for Skylands came via Dan Demarco, who had two and Jack Nussbaum and Mike King, who contributed one each. Derric Trudeau also scored for Northeast. In addition, Northeast received assists from Chris McHugh, Travis Hyde, Luke Whalen, and Tim Rheault, who each chipped in one.

Wilkes-Barre 0 @ Syracuse 8 - Kyle VanWagner was superb between the pipes for Syracuse, as he did not allow a goal in an 8-0 victory over Wilkes-Barre. Syracuse got the win with help from a great game by Nate Walker, who had one goal and four assists. Walker scored 18:41 into the third period to make the score 8-0 Syracuse. Hunter Soden assisted on the tally. Syracuse also got points from Nicholas Sanborn, who also finished with two goals and one assist and Soden, who also racked up two goals and three assists. Syracuse also got a goal from Kelsey Head as well. In addition, Syracuse received assists from Josh Wallace, who had two and Richard Hart, Dan Buehler, Rocco DeRollo, and Nicholas Chalifoux, who each chipped in one. Kyle VanWagner made 52 saves for Syracuse on 52 shots.
