The La Crosse Freeze, proud members of the NA3HL, has announced that defenseman Toby Sengvongxay has been called up to the Brookings Blizzard in the NAHL. Brookings competes in the NAHL’s Central Division.
Sengvongxay, 18, is in his first season of playing junior hockey in the NA3HL. The native of Luverne, MN, began the season in the NAHL playing for the Coulee Region Chill then joined the Freeze during the month of November.
In seven games during the month of November, Sengvongxay recorded seven points, which included two goals, five assists and a +6 rating. In nine games with the Chill earlier in the season, Sengvongxay did not record a point.
Prior to playing junior hockey in the NA3HL and NAHL this season, Sengvongxay (5’9/175) was a standout defenseman at Luverne High School in Minnesota.
Sengvongxay is the third Freeze player to get called up the NAHL this season, joining Taylor Trapp and Andrew Wagner.
