Saturday Scores: Cape Cod continues winning streak
L/A Fighting Spirit 2 @ Cape Cod 3 – The Islanders winning streak continued as Cape Cod and Lewiston/Auburn were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Cape Cod made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2. Cape Cod gained the winning advantage on a goal by Chuck Costello 14:16 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. Cape Cod was led by Costello, who tallied one goal and one assist. Cape Cod also got points from Mike Jessman, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Steven Mathews also scored for Cape Cod. Other players who recorded assists for Cape Cod were Dan Moore, Chris ODonnell, and Eric Szeker, who each chipped in one. Lewiston/Auburn was helped by David Fish, who racked up one goal. Fish scored 6:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lewiston/Auburn. Jon Paul Chauvin provided the assist. Lewiston/Auburn also got a goal from Simon Corriveau as well.
