Metro, West Michigan post Sunday sweeps

Metro 11 @ Southern Tier 0 - Behind a great game by Mathias Tellstrom, who had two goals and three assists, Metro defeated Southern Tier, 11-0. Tellstrom scored on the power play at 17:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Metro and again while 8:49 into the third to make the score 5-0 Metro. Metro forced Southern Tier's goalies to work in net, getting 72 shots and forcing 61 saves. Ryan Pascarella made 56 stops and Timothy OSullivan made five. Metro additionally got points from David Chavis, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Pearce Vance, who also had three goals and one assist, Jacob Gleason, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Chase Sereno, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Kevin Shand also scored for Metro. More assists for Metro came via Chas Distelrath, who had two, Michael Tratar, who had five, and Cam Schwartz, Devin Kelly, Jacob Rutkoske, and Jason Recchia, who each chipped in one. Pittsburgh 2 @ West Michigan 3 - Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, West Michigan battled back to claim a 3-2 victory over Pittsburgh. West Michigan never led in the game until netting the game winner. West Michigan was down 2-0 after a power play goal by Pittsburgh's Nicholas Lyon at 8:04 in the first period. West Michigan tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Charlie Osborne at 13:03 in the third period. West Michigan got the game winner at 19:20 in the third period on a goal by Osborne. West Michigan was led by Dakota Ulmer, who tallied one goal. West Michigan kept Pittsburgh's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jacob Stack made 48 saves on 51 shots. Mitch Kalleward also scored for West Michigan. In addition, West Michigan received assists from Chase Whallon, Gavin Cline, TJ Krajewski, Corey Siwula, and Brandon Benaglio, who each chipped in one. Pittsburgh was helped by Gavin Cummings, who finished with one goal. Cummings scored on the power play 4:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pittsburgh.
