Bulls close in on Central title with win over Freeze

Wooster goalie Joe Morgan made 45 saves in a 2-1 win on Thursday night.

North Iowa 6 @ La Crosse 2 - Joe Burgmeier netted a hat trick to lead North Iowa over La Crosse, 6-2. Burgmeier got on the scoresheet 3:36 into the second period. He then added goals at 19:12 into the second and at 13 seconds into the third. Brett Gravelle also scored for North Iowa. In addition, North Iowa received assists from Quinn Fuchs, Mitch Parsons, Marshall Barnes, and Connor Bump, who contributed one each and Austin Jackson and Sean Mallonee, who each chipped in two. La Crosse was helped by Mick Nisbet, who registered one goal. Nisbet scored 10:36 into the second period to make the score 3-2 North Iowa. Jerame Schuetzle picked up the assist. La Crosse also got a goal from Sam Wenner as well. More assists for La Crosse came via Patrick Gazich, Alexander Rickoff, and Taylor Trapp, who contributed one each. Tommi Ahlgren made 29 saves for North Iowa on 31 shots.
 
Wooster 2 @ Southern Tier 1 - Southern Tier tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but Wooster would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 2-1. A goal by Brad Sneed put Wooster up 2-0 in the second period, but Southern Tier pulled to within one on Nicholas Wilcox's tally 4:28 into the third period. Wooster was led by goalie Joe Morgan, who finished with 45 saves while allowing one goal.  Nick Mooney also scored for Wooster. More assists for Wooster came via Will Schober and Tyler Houmard, who contributed one each. Other players who recorded assists for Southern Tier were Jacob St. Andre, who had one. Timothy OSullivan made 57 saves for Southern Tier on 59 shots.
 
Rochester 3 @ Wisconsin 5 - Rochester tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Wisconsin held on for a 5-3 victory. Wisconsin made the score 5-2 on a goal by Taylor Dickert at 18:10 in the third period, and Rochester got as close as 5-3 when Trey McMillen scored 19:52 into the third period. Wisconsin was led by Matthew Carr, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Carr scored 6:33 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Wisconsin. Dickert provided the assist. Wisconsin also got points from Dickert, who also had one goal and one assist. Wisconsin also had goals scored by Joe Perrelle, Ben Ratner, and Russel Barone, who scored one goal each. In addition, Wisconsin received assists from Thomas Hanson, Connor Boscaccy, and Nick Miller, who each chipped in one and Peter Henderson and Jake McNamara, who contributed two each. Rochester also got a goal from Andrew Gates as well. Other players who recorded assists for Rochester were Dominik Bogdzuil, who had two and Hunter Heightland, Colin Hass, Nick Paulson, and Evan Sabo, who each chipped in one. Max McConnell made 17 saves for Wisconsin on 20 shots.
