West Michigan forward Block signs NAHL tender
February 12, 2016
The West Michigan Wolves of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward Brendon Block has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the New Jersey Titans of the NAHL’s East Division.
Block, 19, is in his first season playing in the NA3HL for the Wolves. The native of Carmel, Indiana, is 2nd on the team in scoring so far this season with 43 points in 35 games played, which includes 18 goals, 25 assists and a team-leading 105 penalty minutes.
Block was also selected to and will compete in the 2016 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the East Division team.
West Michigan head coach Mark Lawrence stated, “This is what we expect, many kids moving on to higher leagues. Brendon has exceeded expectations with his gritty hard working style.”
The Wolves in the middle of a great playoff race in the East division are very lucky to have Brendon manning the left side. The Titans are getting something every team needs, a workhorse.
“It is nice to see hard work pay off because that is the kind of kid that Brendon is,” said Lawrence.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held in June of 2016.
