NA3EHL announces Easton Hockey Stars of the Week

February 16, 2016

The North American 3 Eastern Hockey League (NA3EHL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Easton Hockey for the week ending February 14, 2016. The divisional stars of the week is an award given each week of the regular season to the top performing players in each of the two divisions of the NA3EHL as nominated by their head coaches.

East Division Star of the Week: Hunter Ledwith, forward, Skylands Kings

Skylands Kings forward Hunter Ledwith, 19, had a big weekend as his playoff-bound Kings split their weekend at home against 1st place Cape Cod, in may very well be a potential playoff match-up. The native of Kinnelon, NJ, recorded six points (4 goals, 2 assists) and was a +8 in the two games. On Saturday, Ledwith (5’8/155) had a hat-trick and an assist in a 9-6 win and on Sunday, he had a goal and an assist in a 5-3 loss. For the season, Ledwith is 2nd in team scoring with 62 points in 35 games played. His 32 goals ranks 4th in the NA3EHL. “Hunter has been great for us all year and with playoffs approaching, Hunter is elevating his game to the next level,” said Kings head coach Alex Shindelman.

2nd Star: Alex Linquito, D, Skylands Kings

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Matt Bauchman, F, East Coast Minutemen – Kyler Harding, D, East Coast Minutemen – Alex O’Dowd, F, Northeast Generals – Trevor Trudeau, G, Northeast Generals

West Division Star of the Week: Sam Fitzpatrick, goaltender, Lockport Express

Lockport Express goalie Sam Fitzpatrick, 19, was a brick wall this past weekend as he helped his team win three games in a weekend home sweep of the Wilkes-Barre Miners. Fitzpatrick (5’10/180) started two of the three wins and allowed just one goal during the weekend. In total, the native of Wildwood, NJ stopped 47 of 48 shots in two wins. On Saturday, Fitzpatrick made 25 saves in his first shutout of the season in an 8-0 win over the Miners. The next night, he made 22 saves in a 4-1 win. Since joining the Express in late January, Fitzpatrick is 2-1-2 with a 2.36 GAA and 92.4% save percentage. “Since we signed Sam, he has worked extremely hard and has played very well.  He has not been fortunate enough to get many wins, due to some bad luck, but I am very happy to see him finally get rewarded for his efforts this past weekend.  Our goaltending tandem has really come around over the last month and Sam has been as much a part of that as Sal Stalteri has.  Sam has been a great addition to our program,” said Lockport head coach Frank Vecchio.
