Nashville edges Point Mallard in shootout on Tuesday

Nashville 2 @ Point Mallard 1 (SO) – Nicholas Ottenbacher made 26 saves, including seven in overtime as the Jr. Predators picked up a 2-1 road win in a shootout against Point Mallard in the lone NA3HL game on Tuesday night.
 
After a scoreless 1st period, Nashville got on the board 12:36 into the 2nd period with a power play goal from Dylan Schmidt with assists to Kyle Van Wyk and Conor Cunningham.
 
Less than seven minutes later, the Ducks would tie the game right before the 2nd period was over as Austin Weber scored his 14th goal of the season with assists to Grant Dukus and Stephen Coulter.
 
After a scoreless 3rd period and overtime, the game would go to a shootout. Ottenbacher stopped all the Ducks shooters, while Kristers Petraskevis had the shootout winner for Nashville.
 
Ducks goalie Cooper Seedot made 27 saves in the loss. Despite the loss, the Ducks moved one point ahead of Atlanta for 1st place in the South Division with just two games to go. Nashville is in 3rd place in the Midwest, three points behind 2nd place Peoria with two games remaining.
