La Crosse defenseman Rickoff makes NCAA commitment

March 23, 2016
The La Crosse Freeze, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that defenseman Alex Rickoff has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Lawrence University, a member of the NCHA Conference.

Rickoff, 20, is in his second and final season playing junior hockey in the NA3HL. The native of Winona, Minnesota, has recorded 14 points in 44 games played.

Rickoff (6’2/185) also played during the 2014-15 season in the NA3HL for the Freeze, recording three points in 35 games played. In his NA3HL career, he has recorded 17 points in 79 games played.

“The La Crosse Freeze organization is extremely excited about Alex's opportunity to be a student athlete at Lawrence University.  Alex has been an asset to our defensive core for two years and has continued to improve each day,” said Freeze head coach Ryan Egan. “His work ethic on and off the ice is being rewarded with a fantastic opportunity to play for Coach Szkodzinski and his hockey program, as well as, receive an education at a great institution.  We congratulate Alex and look forward to seeing his accomplishments at the next level.”
