LeRose tabbed head coach in Wichita Falls

August 30, 2010

The Wichita Falls Wildcats have announced that Mark LeRose has been named the team’s new head coach.

He replaces Mike Flanagan, who accepted an assistant coaching position with the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL) last week.

“Mark is a players-type coach, and he came with some great references," said Wildcats owner Roy Davoult.  "His goals were in line with what we’re trying to do, so we jumped on it."

LeRose boasts plenty of coaching experience, having been an assistant with the AHL’s Houston Aeros, University of Wisconsin (WCHA), Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL) and Everett Silvertips (WHL), as well as head coach of Aspen (Colo.) High School and a scout for the Chicago Steel (USHL).

“I've done my homework," LeRose about his new position with the Wildcats. “It’ll take a little bit of time, but from what I've heard, I'm inheriting a good situation.

“I'm ready to do good things in Wichita Falls."
