Bozeman forward Amundson signs NAHL tender

May 9, 2016
The Bozeman Icedogs of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward Kyle Amundson has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Minnesota Magicians, who compete in the NAHL’s Central Division.

Amundson, 19, just completed his first season of junior hockey in both the NA3HL and NAHL.  The native of Hermantown, MN, began the season playing for Bozeman in the NA3HL. He started the season on a seven-game point streak, in where he recorded all 13 points he had accumulated to date, including five goals and eight assists.

Amundson (6’1/190) then was called up to the Magicians in January where he appeard in 10 games and recorded five points.

Upon his return to Bozeman in February, Amundson recorded 13 points in 10 games.  For the 2015-16 season in the NA3HL, Amundson recorded 26 points in 19 games.

Prior to playing in the NA3HL and NAHL, Amundson was a standout forward for Hermantown High School in Minnesota, where he helped lead his team to three straight Class A state championship game appearances.

“Kyle had a opportunity to move up for a short time to the NAHL with the Magicians last year from the Bozeman Icedogs.  Kyle worked extremely on his return to us and put himself in this position to be tendered by them again,” said Bozeman head coach Mark Vichorek. “Kyle is very capable of playing at that level and it will be great to watch his progress throughout this next season.  We are very excited and proud of Kyle and on behalf of the Bozeman Icedogs organization wish him the best in this step in his hockey career.”

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 7, 2016.
