Toledo forward Turner makes college commitment

The Toledo Cherokee of the NA3HL are proud to announce veteran forward Austin Turner has committed to play college hockey at Eastern Michigan University for the upcoming season.
Turner will join teammate David Bogart at EMU. Eastern Michigan an ACHA Division I team that competes in the Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League.
The Temperance, Michigan native has been a member of the Cherokee for the past four seasons. In a 178 career games, Turner scored 49 goals and added 57 assists for 106 points.
Turner (6'1/190) had his best offensive season this past year in 2015-16, scoring 23 goals while adding 27 assists for 50 points. He also led the team with two hat tricks during the regular season and was second on the club with ten power play goals.
Turner, 20, also was selected to and played in the 2016 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the East Division team.
"Austin deserves this, he has worked hard the last four years and I am happy for him and his family that he will get to continue to play hockey while getting a good education," said head coach Kenny Miller
"He had a great year for us and I expect him to carry that over for the next four years at Eastern, he has turned into a good leader while here playing for us," added Miller.
