Former Flying Aces Griffin makes college commitment

July 6, 2016
Goaltender Brady Griffin, 19, who played this past season in the NA3HL for the Minnesota Flying Aces (now Willmar WarHawks) is the first goaltender to commit to Missouri State for the 2016-2017 season. Missouri State is an ACHA Division I team.

The Glen Carbon, Illinois native grew up playing for the Affton Americans and the Twin Bridges Lightning in the Central States Development Hockey League. While in high school, Griffin captured an MVCHA championship with the Edwardsville Tigers.

“I chose Missouri State University because it is one of the top universities in the area. I love the atmosphere, the size and the location,” said Griffin.

This past season in the NA3HL, Griffin (6’3/210) appeared in 15 regular season games for the Flying Aces and posted a 2-8-1 record with a 5.24 goals against average and an 86.1% save percentage.

The ‘south paw’ describes himself as a hard working goalie who uses his speed and size to his advantage.

While attending Missouri State, Griffin hopes to go to the ACHA National Championship Tournament and bring MSU its first National Title.
