Point Mallard forward Champaign makes college commitment

The Point Mallard Ducks of the NA3HL is proud to announce that forward Jake Champaign has committed to play ACHA Division I hockey with Missouri State University.
 
Champaign, from St. Louis, Missouri played two seasons with the Ducks and in 86 games posted 38 goals, 49 assists for 87 points. He was a combined +28 and had 100 penalty minutes. In 11 career playoff games, he posted 4 goals, 6 assists for 10 points and was a +11.
 
This past season, Champaign, 20, set person highs in both goals (21) and plus/minus with a +21 rating. He was named the NA3HL South Division Star of the Week on December 8th.
 
“This is a great opportunity for Jake to continue his hockey career while attending a fantastic university. We have a great relationship with Coach Bucher and we look forward to working with Missouri State in the future. Jake will make an immediate positive impact with their team,” stated Ducks GM/Head Coach, Tom Winkler.
 
Prior to playing in the NA3HL, Champaign played for the St. Louis Selects 18U team in the NAPHL during the 2013-14 season, where he had 12 points in 19 games.
 
Champaign is the 7th Ducks player this season who has made a college commitment to play hockey.
