Bradley Estrada helped Helena pick up a weekend sweep of Missoula.

Breezy Point 3 at New Ulm 4 – A late third period goal gave the New Ulm Steel a 4-3 win against Breezy Point on Saturday night. New Ulm saw goals from Jared Mickelson, Wyatt Peterson, Sam Wenner, and Jacob Padley in the victory. Breezy Point kept the competition close, with goals from Austin Langworthy, Tristyn Sabina, and Steve Kukla. Nathan Siclovan took the win in net for New Ulm after making 27 saves. Breezy Point’s Mangus Lindhe made 51 stops in the North Stars’ loss. Boxscore

Cincinnati 2 at St. Louis 10 – Racking up double-digit goals to end 2016 were the St. Louis Jr. Blues, who defeated Cincinnati 10-2 on Saturday night. The Jr. Blues’ ten goals through the night were scored by Ivan Galaguzov, Jack Hatton (4), Cory Robinson, Alex Werdmuller (3), and Samuel Maddox to earn their weekend sweep. James Frantz netted both goals for Cincinnati. Hunter Smith made 14 stops to lock in the Jr. Blues’ victory. In net for Cincinnati, Ryan Kostelnik and Tyler Geloneck split duties, combining for 37 saves.  Boxscore

North Iowa 4 at Rochester 3 – A dominant second period secured North Iowa’s weekend sweep over Rochester on Saturday night. North Iowa saw three late goals and held on for victory in their 4-3 win. Owen Larson, Connor Clemons, Tim Kuivinen, and David (Mitch) Dolter each scored for the Bulls. Rochester held the game in close range, scoring three goals by Charles Bill, Ethan Sievek, and Austyn Renn. Splitting net duty for North Iowa were Brady Meyers and RJ Pluhar, who combined for 21 saves in the win. Bailey Schmitz took the loss in net for the Ice Hawks.   Boxscore

Willmar 4 at Alexandria 2 – The Willmar WarHawks capped off their year with a 4-2 road win over the Alexandria Blizzard. Willmar saw goals from four different scorers, including Max Oelkers, Riley Tigrett, Dylan Gast, and Jordan Cooper. Alexandria grabbed two goals, courtesy of Connor Nilson and Logan Norman. Alex Weissenborn took the win in net for Willmar after making 51 saves. Alexandria’s Michael Hughes and Brey Effertz combined for 16 saves in the loss.  Boxscore 

Glacier 1 at Helena 4 – Four consecutive goals by the Helena Bighorns set the tone for victory on Saturday night. Helena’s goals were scored by Ben Kottmeier (2), Bradley Estrada, and Cody Thomson. Glacier’s lone tally to close out the game was scored by Brandon Huntington. Alex Kruger made 40 saves in net for Helena to earn the win. Glacier’s Brendan Schultz made 44 saves in the loss.  Boxscore

Bozeman 4 at Billings 1 – The Bozeman Icedogs started and ended the game with goals to take a 4-1 win over Billings in their 2016 finale. Bozeman saw goals from Liam Millar (2), Carmon Teel, and Austin Charnholm. Kyle Mueller registered Billings’ lone goal. Drew Pehrson took the win in net for Bozeman with 37 saves, while Ethan Wiese was given the loss for Billings despite 35 saves.  Boxscore

Missoula 2 at Great Falls 5 – With a five-goal night, the Great Falls Americans grabbed a win over Missoula at home to close out the weekend. Great Falls goals were scored by Michael Fary, Jens Juliussen, Tanner Congdon, Normunds Vibans, and Jesse Johnson. Missoula scored two goals, courtesy of Misha Akatnov and Zachary Colgrove. Nick Nast took the win in net for Great Falls with 29 saves, while Tanner Loucks was given the loss for Missoula with 28 saves.  Boxscore

Gillette 4 at Yellowstone 9 – Scoring nine goals to finish off 2016, the Yellowstone Quake took a 9-4 decision at home over Gillette on Saturday night. Yellowstone’s nine goals were scored by Pablo Pantoja (2), Max Meyer, Max Doner (2), Tony Dahlberg, Cole Stewart, Ian Doner, and Curt Greenbush. Gillette’s four goals came from Colt Johnson, Kyle Truax, Cade Boreing, and Nick Stockert. The Quake’s Nick Ottenbacher took the win in net after making 28 saves. Gillette saw Robbie Brennan and Landon Anderson split net duties in the loss, where they combined for 26 saves.   Boxscore
