North Iowa forward Mallonee gets call to the NAHL
January 23, 2017
Earlier this year nn December 2nd, a skate blade almost ended Sean Mallonee's hockey career. Fast forward seven weeks later, he's suiting up in the North American Hockey League.
Mallonee made NAHL debut with the Janesville Jets this past weekend when they visited the Minnesota Magicians. He is the sixth North Iowa Bull to earn a call up this season.
The native of Kennewick, Washington has 15 goals and 38 points, both good for fourth in North Iowa, despite missing five games due to his neck injury. Mallonee is especially dangerous on the power play as he has visited the red light district three times with the Bulls on the man advantage and has four assists with the extra skater.
Mallonee was named the Central Division star of the week back in October when he scored three goals and added three helpers in a weekend sweep of the La Crosse Freeze. Since returning from injury, Mallonee has been a major catalyst for the Bulls offense. He's logged a goal and five assists in his last four games.
Mallonee also played in the 2016 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament last February. He is in his second season with the Bulls in the NA3HL.
The North Iowa Bulls wish Sean Mallonee success as a Janesville Jet.
