Pittsburgh defenseman Smith called up to the NAHL

February 9, 2017
The Pittsburgh Vengeance of the NA3HL are proud to announce that defenseman Justin Smith has been called up to the NAHL to play for the Aston Rebels for the remainder of the season.

Smith, 18, is in his first season playing junior hockey. The native of East Lansing, Michigan, has split time this season between the NAHL and the NA3HL.

Smith (6'2/185) has played six games for the Vengeance in the NA3HL in January and February and posted a goal and two assists with a plus one rating.

He began the season playing for the Aston Rebels in the NAHL, playing in 12 games from September through November.

Prior to playing in the NAHL and NA3HL, Smith played two seasons in the NAPHL for the Lansing Capitals 16U team from 2013-15.

"Justin was only here a short time but made a significant impact on the team with his approach to the game," said Head Coach David Dorsey. "He was injured early on while playing for Aston but really worked hard to round out his game and get back there this season to help them out.”
