New England defenseman Arbuckle makes NCAA commitment
April 13, 2017
The New England Stars of the NA3HL are please to announce that defenseman Nolan Arbuckle has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at Trine University in Indiana beginning in the fall.
Arbuckle, 20, played 89 games for the Stars over two seasons accumulating 43 points from the blueline. During the 2016-17 season, the 5’10/181 lbs. native of Wilmington, Massachusetts had 25 points in 46 games played.
Trine University, formerly known as Tri-State University, is a private, non-profit, post-secondary institution located in Angola, Indiana. The school was founded in 1884, and offers degrees in the arts and sciences, business, education and engineering. Their Men’s Ice Hockey Program will compete at the NCAA Division III level in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.
“Nolan was one of our best blueliners over the past two seasons. Due to his work ethic and willingness to broaden his skill set, he improved greatly and played in every situation for us. Nolan will take full advantage of the resources available to him at Trine and will make Coach Todd’s inaugural team. Nolan is a quiet leader whom are younger players looked up to. He plays mean and structured without the puck and moves the puck up ice when he has it. Nolan is a coaches dream – practices hard and plays even harder, zero maintenance, and a great teammate. We wish him the best,” said Stars Head Coach Darryl Green.
