Syracuse forward Soden makes college commitment

May 5, 2017
The Syracuse Stampede of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that captain and forward Hunter Soden has chosen to attend and play ACHA Division I hockey for Eastern Michigan.

Soden, 20, spent the past two seasons with the Stampede and this season finished with 25 goals and 22 assists for 47 points in 47 games.

The 5’10/170 lbs. native of Pequannock, New Jersey has recorded 80 points in 90 career NA3HL/NA3EHL over his two-year junior career.

“Hunter is a great guy with a very good work ethic. He can play special teams and works both ends of the ice equally,” states Stampede Coach Mike Beavis. “I give a ton of credit to Coach Althen working with quite a few schools to get Soden where he wanted to be for next season.”

Soden will graduate from Morrisville State College this spring with an associates degree in renewable energy and will pursue his bachelors degree at Eastern in the fall of 2017. The Stampede wish their Captain all the best in his educational and hockey future.
