Binghamton goalie Lauretta makes NCAA commitment

The Binghamton Junior Senators of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that goaltender Salvatore Lauretta has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at SUNY-Cortland of the SUNYAC conference.
Lauretta, 20, posted a perfect regular season record of 26-0-0 during the 2016-17 regular season. The 6'3/195 lbs. native of Long Island, New York made certain his impact was felt around the country.
Lauretta was selected to and played in the 2017 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the Silver team. Finishing the season with an overall record of 31-1-1, which including the playoffs, Lauretta also had a more than impressive save percentage of 94.1%. Lauretta was one of the best goalies not only in the league, but in the country.
He was named the 2016-17 NA3HL Northeast Division Goaltender of the Year and also named to the All-Northeast Division Team.
"Sal is one of those players coaches love to have on their team. He gives you a chance to win every night,” said Junior Senators head coach Chris Laginere.
"I said it all year, he's one of, if not the best goalie in Tier III junior hockey. He will have an immediate impact at the NCAA Division III level,” said Binghamton GM Ray Welsh.
“My time spent in Binghamton in the NA3HL was the best of my junior hockey career. They are an awesome organization with great leaders who constructed a roster of great players and better people,” stated Lauretta.
