Granite City defenseman Esselman makes NCAA commitment

August 3, 2017
The Granite City Lumberjacks of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Casey Esselman has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Concordia College in Wisconsin for the 2017-18 season.

Esselman, 21, just completed his second and final season playing in the NA3HL for the Silver Cup Champion Lumberjacks. In 46 regular season games in 2016-17, the native of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin had 24 points (4 goals, 20 assists).

Esselman (5’11/195) also had seven points in 10 playoff games to help Granite City to the NA3HL Silver Cup Championship.

In 91 career NA3HL games, Esselman recorded 56 regular season points.

“Casey has been a leader on our blue line for two years.  During that time he has grown both on and off the ice.  I know he is well prepared for this next step in his hockey career.  The entire Lumberjack organization wishes him the best of luck,” said Lumberjacks head coach Brad Willner.
