NA3HL announces Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending October 29, 2017. The divisional stars of the week is an award given each week of the regular season to the top performing players in each of the eight divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.

 

Central Division Star of the Week: Alec Seeger, Forward, La Crosse Freeze

The La Crosse forward continued his point streak with another big weekend against the Wausau RiverWolves. Seeger has now scored in four straight games and has at least one point in his last five games. On Friday night, Seeger was the first star of the game as he scored two goals and added two helpers. He followed that performance with another goal and assist in another La Crosse victory. Seeger finished the weekend with a plus-8 rating.

2nd Star: Colin Cain, G, North Iowa Bulls

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Cameron Fagerlee, F, North Iowa Bulls – Dan Lienemann, F, Wisconsin Whalers – Brandon Ratzloff, F, La Crosse Freeze – Nick Rogers, F, Wisconsin Whalers

 

Coastal Division Star of the Week: Leevi Kervinen, Forward, Cape Cod Islanders

A native of Lappeenranta, Finland, Kervinen registered four points during his two game weekend. On Saturday, he scored his third goal of the season and assisted on the other Cape Cod goal. Then on Sunday, he scored two more goals including the game winning goal in a 4-3 win over the Maine Wild. Kervinen finished the weekend with a plus-1 rating.

East Division Star of the Week: Connor Inger, Forward, Metro Jets

The Macomb, Michigan native had himself quite the weekend as he notched six points. On Friday night against Lansing, Inger scored his first hat trick of the season while also adding an assist. He scored the game winning goal as well in the 5-3 win against the Wolves. On Saturday against Wooster, Inger scored a goal and an assist. He now has 13 goals and 20 assists which gives him the team lead with 33 points.

2nd Star: Tyler Hawk, G, Pittsburgh Vengeance

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Jhuwon Davis, F, Metro Jets – Dom Glavach, F, Pittsburgh Vengeance

 

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Reid Wasczcenko, Goalie, Yellowstone Quake

The Yellowstone goaltender once again had a dominant weekend as he only just two goals over the weekend. On Friday night, Wasczcenko stymied the Helena offense, stopping 28 of 29 shots. He was even better the following night, turning aside 41 of 42 shots. He finished the weekend with a .972 save percentage.

Midwest Division Star of the Week: Jake Cox, Forward, St. Louis Jr. Blues

In his first weekend with his new club, Jake Cox certainly made an impact. In his first game as a Jr. Blue, Cox found the back of the net and had two assists. He followed that effort up with three assists on Sunday. He finished with a plus-3 rating on the weekend and now for the season he has six goal and 10 assists.

2nd Star: Jack Healy, F, Peoria Mustangs

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Zach Freiburger, G, Peoria Mustangs – Ivan Galaguzov, F, St. Louis Jr. Blues – Bryson Linenburg, G, Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts

 

Northeast Division Star of the Week: Eric Vanderhoff, Forward, Skylands Kings

Three games, three multi-point efforts for Eric Vanderhoff. While he could not find the back of the net on Friday night, he still was able to assist on two Kings goals. On Saturday night, Oswego could not contain the forward from Vernon, New Jersey. He scored three times while also adding an assist in a 4-2 victory. In the final game of the weekend, Vanderhoff scored two more goals to give him an eight point weekend. The Skylands’ forward currently ranks second in the league in points and first in goals.

2nd Star: RC Randall, F, Jersey Shore Wildcats

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Brad Becker, F, Binghamton Jr. Senators – Dinmukhamed Dzangharashev, F, Jersey Shore – Ryan Flanagan, F, Binghamton Jr. Senators – Steven Ford, F, Skylands Kings – Tommy Kilway, F, Oswego Stampede – Marcos Zarragoitia, D, Oswego

 

South Division Star of the Week: Cameron Tobey, Forward, Texas Brahmas

One of the top performers in the Texas Brahmas’ three game sweep of the Atlanta Capitals was forward Cameron Tobey. For the weekend, Tobey scored once and assisted on four other Brahma goals. He now has points in six straight games for Texas. For the season, Toby has 17 points in 12 games.

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Drew Wotta, F, Louisiana Drillers

 

West Division Star of the Week: Ryan Worley, Forward, Alexandria Blizzard

In his first weekend in an Alexandria sweater, Worley registered three assists in his debut, a 8-3 win over Breezy Point. The following night he scored the game winning goal in a 5-2 win over the Granite City Lumberjacks. In addition to his four point weekend, the Centennial, Colorado native finished with a plus-4 rating.
