NA3HL announces Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending November 19, 2017. The divisional stars of the week is an award given each week of the regular season to the top performing players in each of the eight divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.

 

Central Division Star of the Week: Tristan Slot, Forward, Wausau RiverWolves

The Wausau RiverWolves got their first wins in the NA3HL this past weekend and no one was a bigger catalyst for their offense than Tristan Slot. The Kaukauna, Wisconsin native scored four goals, two in each game, while tacking on five assists. Slot contributed on every single RiverWolves goal on Friday night as the club picked up their first win, a 6-0 shutout over Evansville. Slot now has 12 points on the season and was a plus-7 for the weekend.

2nd Star: Mitch Dolter, F, North Iowa Bulls

Coastal Division Star of the Week: Derek Flynn, Defense, New England Stars

The defenseman from Dracut, Massachusetts had himself quite the weekend as he picked up five points. His best game came on Saturday, that’s when the 18-year old scored a power play goal and also tallied three assists in a 4-3 overtime win over the Northeast Generals. He also picked up another assist in the rematch with Northeast, a game his team won 3-0. For the weekend, Flynn had a plus-2 rating.

2nd Star: Joseph Mehall, F, Maine Wild

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Leevi Kervinen, F, Cape Cod Islanders

 

East Division Star of the Week: Dom Glavach, Forward, Pittsburgh Vengeance

There are new kings of the east and league as the Pittsburgh Vengeance swept the Metro Jets to take control of the East Division. Their sweep also propelled them to the top of the league standings as they now have 36 points. Leading the charge was forward Dom Glavach who, after this weekend, leads the league in goals with 23. The 20-year old scored a pair of goals and added an assist in his team’s 5-2 win on Saturday night. He followed that up with a goal and an assist in Pittsburgh’s overtime win on Sunday. Glavach now leads his team in points with 31 in just 24 games.

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Carver Thompson, Goalie, Bozeman Icedogs

The Bozeman Icedogs got into the win column this weekend and a major piece of that success was goaltender Carver Thompson. The native of Billings, Montana denied 42 of 43 Helena shots to give his team a 4-1 on Saturday night, earning first star honors. His .977 save percentage was tops in the division for the past weekend.

Midwest Division Star of the Week: Ivan Galaguzov, Forward, St. Louis Jr. Blues

The St. Louis forward continued the hottest start in the NA3HL as he has 37 points in 16 games. With five more points this weekend, Galaguzov’s 16 game points streak remains intact. His two goals and assist on Saturday helped his Jr. Blues win a crucial divisional game with Peoria 6-2. Another goal and assist on Sunday helped his team continue their 17 game winning streak. Galaguzov has at least two points in each of his last five games.

Northeast Division Star of the Week: Brad Becker, Forward, Binghamton Jr. Senators

Becker, 20, helped his Binghamton Jr. Senators earn a split with Niagara Falls this past weekend. After falling in a shootout on Saturday, Becker found the back of the net three times on Sunday and also added an assist in the Jr. Senators 9-3 victory. The native of Howell, New Jersey now has 18 goals and 17 assists in 17 games played and was a plus-3 on the weekend against Niagara Falls.

2nd Star: Brandon Schweickert, F, Niagara Falls PowerHawks

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Frankie Bodami, F, Niagara Falls PowerHawks

 

South Division Star of the Week: Robbie Seger, Forward, Texas Brahmas

The Pevely, Missouri native had his best weekend of the season as the Texas Brahmas swept the College Station Spirit. On Saturday, Seger scored a goal and had an assist. Sunday was Seger’s best game of the season as he had a hat trick to go with three assists in another win over the Spirit. Seder’s point streak has now reached three games and he now has 14 points on the year. He also had a plus-8 rating this past weekend.

2nd Star: Tucker Alspaugh, F, Louisiana Drillers

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Gunner Moore, D, Atlanta Capitals – Sam Sykes, F, Texas Brahmas

 

West Division Star of the Week: Alex Nagel, Forward, New Ulm Steel

The veteran forward continued his hot streak for the New Ulm Steel as he notched seven points in two games. On Friday night, Nagel scored his first hat trick of the season and also had an assist in a 6-2 win over Breezy Point. On Saturday, Nagel tallied a pair of goals and tacked on another assist in a 5-4 overtime victory. He now has points in each of his last five games and has at least one goal in each of his last four games. The Antigo, Wisconsin native now has 10 goals and 15 assists in 16 games.

2nd Star: Braden Altena, F, Granite City Lumberjacks

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Kirk Coppock, F, New Ulm Steel – Chase Di Bari, F, Granite City Lumberjacks
