Friday Finals: Vengeance winning streak swells to 10

Brodie Thornton had a hat-trick to lead the Metro Jets to a 7-0 win on Friday night.

Pittsburgh Vengeance 3 @ Southern Tier Xpress 1-The Pittsburgh Vengeance scored three goals in the third to come back and defeat the Southern Tier Xpress, 3-1, which was the 10th straight win for the Vengeance.  Justin Bioni, Jacob Friedman, and Dominick Glavach scored for the Vengeance, while Mickenzie Restle notched one for the Xpress. Pittsburgh's Joel De Simone made 43 saves, while Ryan Pascarella stopped 30 shots for Southern Tier. 

Texas Brahmas 4 @ Louisiana Drillers 1-The Texas Brahmas notched three in a row, including one shorthanded, to defeat the Louisiana Drillers, 4-1. Luke Bombardir, Adam Shimamoto, Hunter Bersani, and Kyle Cote scored for the Brahmas, while Nick Farkas notched the lone Drillers goal. In net, Texas' Carson Murison made 14 saves, while Christian Kazoleas stopped 38 shots for Louisiana. 
 
Northeast Generals 2 @ L/A Nordiques 7-The Northeast Generals scored first, but six consecutive goals for the L/A Nordiques helped them to a 7-2 win. Cole Ouellette, Donocan Tehan, Zack Mullen, Clifford Ogle, Caleb Labrie, Kyle Secor, and Colby Audette scored for the Nordiques, while Thad Marcola and David Piela got on the scoreboard for the Nordiques. L/A goaltender Michael Errico made 45 saves, while Lucas Souza and Nicholas Sesock stopped 8 and 21 saves, respectively, for Northeast.
 
Metro Jets 7 @ Toledo Cherokee 0-Metro Jet Andrew Kormos made 20 saves for a 7-0 shutout win over the Toledo Cherokee. Brodie Thornton (3), Rhett Limback, Griffin Sawyer (2), and Robby Flannery scored for the Jets. Ricardo Gonzalez stopped 33 shots for the Cherokee. 
 
Wisconsin Whalers 4 @ Rochester Ice Hawks 3-The Wisconsin Whalers held onto the lead for the duration, landing them a 4-3 victory over the Rochester Ice Hawks. Hunter Huson, Anthony Fortin, Carter Grobstick, and Sam Hanson scored for the Whalers, while Drew Westphal (2) and Josh Hoffman found the back of the net for the Ice Hawks. Wisconsin's Alex Hufford made 31 saves, while Luke Murphy stopped 65 shots for Rochester. 
 
Breezy Point North Stars 3 @ Granite City Lumberjacks 9-A busy second period helped the Granite City Lumberjacks to a 9-3 win over the Breezy Point North Stars. Chase DiBari (3), Logan Neu, Matt Moran, Hunter Schwehr (2), and Owen Sikich (2) each got on the scoreboard for the Lumberjacks, while Alex Flicek (2) and Dawson Kram scored for the North Stars. Granite City's Nick Bucklin made 14 saves, while Lucas Ehrlich and Micah Hershey made 16 and 11 saves, respectively, for Breezy Point. 
 
Atlanta Capitals 3 @ Mid Cities Jr Stars 1-A pair of third period goals from Talon Medure pushed the Atlanta Capitals to a 3-1 win over the Mid Cities Jr Stars. Jason Ladzinski also scored for the Capitals, and Nick Sheridan notched one for the Jr Stars. Atlanta goaltender Kyle Konin made 17 saves on the night, while Jake Ange stopped 25 shots for Mid Cities. 
 
Helena Bighorns 10 @ Missoula Junior Bruins 2-The Helena Bighorns maintained a steady offensive presence to accumulate a 10-2 win over the Missoula Junior Bruins. Henry Kipper, Kaden Lindberg (2), Shawn Mitchell, Riley Anderson, Valary Dietz, Jarret Scheibel, Nick Noel, and Luc Cross scored for the Bighorns, and Misha Akatnov and CJ Odlin got on the scoreboard for the Junior Bruins. Helena net minder Nick Battaglia made 25 saves, and Duncan Wiest and Brian Thomas made 5 and 24 stops, respectively, for Missoula. 
 
Yellowstone Quake 8 @ Bozeman Icedogs 2-The Yellowstone Quake came out strong on their way to an 8-2 win over the Bozeman Icedogs. Jack Moore, Timo Pelto (2), Carter Johnson, Nolan Willoughby (2), Iniaz Steyaert, and Ian Doner scored for the Quake, while Bryan Miller and Duncan McGrath found the back of the net for the Icedogs. Yellowstone net minder John Bernhagen made 24 saves, while Tait Carlson stopped 50 shots for Bozeman. 
 
Gillette Wild 5 @ Great Falls Americans 3-Brooks Mitzel scored four goals for the Gillette Wild, carrying them to a 5-3 win over the Great Falls Americans. Derek Scoggins also scored for the Wild, and Tanner Rath, Ben Rinckey, and Weston Goodman scored for the Americans. In net, Gillette's Cody Grogan made 40 saves, and Bryan Sharp stopped 33 shots for Great Falls. 
 
La Crosse Freeze 4 @ Willmar WarHawks 1-The La Crosse Freeze scored four in a row to defeat the Willmar WarHawks, 4-1. Brady Lindauer, Clayton Lackey, Connor Losen, and Zach Hanno scored for the Freeze, while Wyatt Toll notched one for the WarHawks. La Crosse goaltender William Graves made 21 saves, while Kaden Ericson stopped 24 shots for Willmar. 
 
North Iowa Bulls 3 @ Alexandria Blizzard 4 (SO)-Both Logan Nelson and Tristen Poliseno scored in a shootout for the Alexandria Blizzard, resulting in a 4-3 SO win over the North Iowa Bulls. Tanner Frerichs (2) and Brenden Payne scored in regulation for the Blizzard, and Tyler Bump (2) and Mitch Dolter found the back of the net for the Bulls. Alexandria's Brady Meyers made 35 saves, while Colin Cain stopped 34 shots for North Iowa. 
 
Roc City Royals 2 @ Niagara Falls PowerHawks 6-The Niagara Falls PowerHawks scored early to set the pace for a 6-2 win over the Roc City Royals. Michael Olzewski, Mitchell Thornton, Branden Tripi, Evan Domino, and Stephen Minichiello (2) scored for the Powerhawks, while Raymond Corey and Nathanial Now found the back of the net for the Royals. Niagara Falls goaltender Carson Gates made 19 saves on the night, while Josh Martinez and Frederick Peters notched 29 and 15 saves, respectively, for Roc City.
