The New Ulm Steel of the NA3HL is proud to announce that defensemen Steven Mordini has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-Stout in the WIAC.
“I’m excited to be playing for UW-Stout next year. Junior hockey has been a great time and I got to meet some really great people and I’m ready for the next step,” said Mordini.
Mordini, a 5’11/185 lbs. native of Baraboo, Wisconsin, played for the Steel for one-and-a-half seasons where he tallied 14 goals and 34 assists for a total of 48 points in 64 games played.
“Thank you to the New Ulm Steel and the coaching staff. I also would like to thank my teammates, friends and family on supporting me throughout the years,” said Mordini.
Mordini, 20, was selected to and participated in the 2018 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament and was the Steel’s defensive leader in points, goals and assists for the 2017-18 season. Prior to his time with the Steel, Mordini played for Baraboo/Portage High School and the North Iowa Bulls.
