April 25, 2018
The L/A Nordiques of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Patrick Romano has committed to play ACHA Division I hockey for the Niagara University Purple Eagles.
Romano, 20, just completed his final season of junior hockey in the NA3HL, playing the last two seasons in Lewiston/Auburn. The 6’2/230 lbs. native of Toms River, New Jersey, recorded 8 points (1 goal, 7 assists) in 40 regular season games this past season.
In his two-year NA3HL career, he had 18 points in 80 games.
“Pat is a great team guy, both on the ice and in the locker room. Pat will bring a hard-hitting, team first playing style to Niagara University this fall. Pat has worked hard for this opportunity and we are very excited for him and look forward to watching him compete at the next level,” said L/A Nordiques Head Coach Cameron Robichaud.
“I immediately recognized in Pat the capability to succeed at our level as soon as he stepped on the ice. He is a dominant defenseman with a solid read on the game, he is extremely physical, and is constantly active and communicating. While watching him compete 3 on 3 in a recent skate, Coach Brzeczkowski echoed my admiration of his passing and puck skills. He will make an impact on the team with not only his leadership but also his confidence. We are delighted to continue our relationship with the Lewiston/Auburn organization,” said Niagara recruiter Nate Miller.
