The Binghamton Junior Senators of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward CJ Smith has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Smith, 20, played his final junior hockey season in 2017-18 with both Binghamton and the Long Beach Sharks in the NA3HL. The 5’9/175 lbs. native of Hanover, Minnesota began the season with Long Beach, playing in 28 games and recording 34 points.
In early January, Smith was traded to Binghamton where he then recorded 25 points in 21 regular season games. In seven Fraser Cup Playoff games, Smith added four points.
“CJ was a great addition to our roster and securing him helped solidify our offense. He’s a hard working, well-mannered young man with outstanding character. I have no doubt he will contribute much to River Falls,” said Binghamton GM Ray Welsh.
