Wilderness forward Altmann makes NCAA commitment

July 24, 2018
The Minnesota Wilderness of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that veteran forward Nick Altmann has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts.

Altmann, 21, completed his third season playing in the NAHL with the Wilderness in 2017-18 and finished his NAHL career with 23 goals and 33 assists for 56 points in 146 regular season games.  That included 27 points in 58 games played during the 2017-18 season. The 6’0/185 lbs. native of Duluth, Minnesota, and Duluth East High School alum also compiled 2 goals and 5 assists for 7 points in 13 career playoff games.

“The Wilderness organization would like to thank Nick for his hard work and outstanding commitment.  Nick is a terrific young man and no doubt he will have success both in the classroom and on the ice,” said Wilderness Head Coach and General Manager Dave Boitz.

After playing three seasons of high school hockey for Duluth East High School, Altmann spent the 2015-16 season with the Wilderness in the NAHL, the Alexandria Blizzard in the NA3HL, and the Madison Capitols in the USHL.

Williams College is a private liberal arts institution located in northwestern Massachusetts.  The Williams hockey program competes at the Division 3 level in the NESCAC.
