Generals defenseman Kisielis signs professional contract

The Northeast Generals of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Davis Kisielis has signed a professional contract with the Blackburn Hawks of the NIHL (National Ice Hockey League) in England.
The 21-year-old native of Liepaja, Latvia, made an immediate impact for the Generals in the NA3HL last year. Kisielis (6’5/196) brought a steady presence to the lineup every night and played with the right amount of snarl to protect his teammates while playing shut down defense.
In 38 regular season games, he totaled seven points to go along with 137 penalty minutes.
“Davis was a real success story for us. He came to us very raw, but worked real hard to improve his skating and his positioning,” said Generals NA3HL Head Coach Darryl Locke. “He was great off the ice, always working hard and that translated to his rapid improvement on the ice.”
“Davis is a great example of what hard work can do to your hockey career. He worked real hard, listened and improved everyday. We wish Davis the best of luck as he ventures into professional hockey,” added General Manager Bryan Erikson.
Kisielis will join former Generals NA3HL defenseman Ruslan Cernych in the NIHL, who just signed with the Milton Keynes Thunder. Cernych is embarking on his 3rd year as a professional hockey player.
