Janesville secures postseason berth
With the Motor City Metal Jackets' 4-2 loss to the Traverse City North Stars on Sunday night, the Janesville Jets clinched the North Division's third berth to the Robertson Cup Playoffs.
After 55 games, the third-place Jets hold a 34-17-4 record, good for 72 points, eight more than the fifth-place Metal Jackets, who have three regular-season games remaining.
The other teams to lock up playoff berths in the North are the St. Louis Bandits (division champions) and North Stars.
The Michigan Warriors (70 points, four games remaining) and Metal Jackets are still in contention for the division's - and league's - final playoff spot.
The other 12 NAHL teams to clinch playoff berths are the Central Division's Alexandria Blizzard, Bismarck Bobcats, Coulee Region Chill and Owatonna Express; South Division's Topeka Roadrunners (division champions), Amarillo Bulls, Texas Tornado and Wichita Falls Wildcats; and West Division's Fairbanks Ice Dogs (division champions), Alaska Avalanche, Kenai River Brown Bears and Wenatchee Wild.
