Saturday Scores: Bulls extend winning streak with sweep

North Iowa forward Jarod Blackowiak had two goals in a 4-1 win on Saturday night.

Alexandria Blizzard 1 @ North Iowa Bulls 4 - Peter Verstegen and Jarod Blackowiak each scored two goals leading the North Iowa Bulls to a 4-1 win over the Alexandria Blizzard on Saturday night. The Bulls kicked it into gear in the 2nd period taking over the game and never looking back. Brandon Studioso and Jimmy McDermott each recorded two assists in the win as well. Connor Poczos earned his 5th win of the year making 31 saves. Riley Scanlon scored the lone goal for the Blizzard. Kyle Hayden made 37 saves in the losing effort. 
 
Maine Wild 1 @ Long Beach Sharks 4 - The Long Beach Sharks shutdown the Maine Wild on Saturday afternoon winning 4-1. Eric Immel led the way for the Sharks scoring two goals in the win. Noah Carlock and Matthew Victurine each had themselves two-point nights as well. Darren Nathan recorded his 4th win of the season making 27 saves for the sharks in the winning effort. Mitchell Bliss scored the lone goal for the Wild. Despite the loss, Chris Rodrigues was solid in net for the Wild making 40 saves.
 
Mid Cities Jr. Stars 6 @ College Station Spirit 2 - Josh Linn and Cameron Tobey led the way for the Mid Cities Jr. Stars in their 6-2 dominating win over the College Station Spirit. The Stars got off to a slow start but were able to kick it into gear in the 2nd period scoring three goals in the frame. Daniel Bazarin was the playmaker for the Stars recording three assists. Francisco Clark-Silva made 26 saves in the win. Daniel Mandelbaum and Trevor Borlace scored the goals for the Spirit in the loss. 
 
Louisiana Drillers 3 @ Atlanta Capitals 2 (OT) - For the second night in a row, it took extra time to settle things between the Drillers and the Capitals. With the Capitals getting the upper hand a night ago, the Drillers were able to return the favor and get the 3-2 win on Saturday night. Late in overtime, Drew Wotta scored his first goal of the season giving the Drillers the win. Kevin Lake recorded his 2nd win of the season making 36 saves. Brett Dougherty scored both goals for the Capitals in the tough loss. Patrick Egdorf made 30 saves giving his team a chance. 
 
Skylands Kings 4 @ Niagara Falls Powerhawks 3 - Sparked by a three goal third period, the Skylands Kings overcame a two-goal deficit to defeat the Niagara Falls Powerhawks 4-3 on Saturday Night. Trailing 3-1 heading into the final frame, the Kings scored three unanswered goals sparked by Dylan Saccone who recorded his 14th goal of the season. Jake Cicalese scored the game winner for the Kings with under ten minutes to play. The Kings relied on their goaltender Josh Sears to shut the door the rest of the way. Sears made 26 saves in the win. Jack Kinsman and Evan Shanley led the way for the Powerhawks each scoring a goal and an assist in the loss.
 
Binghamton Junior Senators 5 @ Oswego Stampede 0 - Jeff Zero lived up to his name on Saturday night making 24 saves and earning his 3rd shutout of the season in the Senators 5-0 win over the Stampede. Mike Padgeon led the way in the scoring department recording two goals and two assists in the win. Markus Cook had a goal and an assist for the Senators as well. The Stampede were unable to get anything started going 0/5 on the Power Play. Ben White made 28 saves for the Stampede in the loss. 
 
Peoria Mustangs 1 @ Coulee Region Chill 3 - Despite keeping the game close all the way to the third period, the Coulee Region Chill broke though scoring two goals in the final frame and defeating the Peoria Mustangs 3-1. The Chill heavily outshot the Mustangs 48-26 including 23-7 in the third period alone. Brandon Ratzloff, Laudon Poellinger, and Brady Lindauer all led the way for the Chill scoring a goal and an assist each in the win. Jack Radley scored the lone goal for the Mustangs. Jaden Gardner was busy all night making 45 saves in the losing effort.
 
Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts 2 @ New Ulm Steel 9 - The New Ulm Steel continued their dominance over the Evansville Jr. Thunderbirds winning 9-2 on Saturday night. Jumping on them early, the Steel scored four goals in the opening period to run away with the game. Nathan Andrade was the star of the game for the Steel scoring four goals in the win. Brian Oare was the playmaker all night recording three assists for the Steel as well. Noah Fiedrich earned his 1st win of the season making 13 saves. Dario Haag and Alec Marshall scored the goals for the Thunderbirds in the loss. 
 
Rochester Grizzlies 1 @ Breezy Point North Stars 4 - Despite being heavily outshot, the heroics of goaltender Dan Fielding was the key for the North Stars in their 4-1 win over the Grizzlies. Fielding earned his 2nd win of the season making 45 saves for the North Stars. Lukas Brockman led the way in the scoring department recording two goals in the win. Evan O’Connor also made a big impact dishing out three assists as well. The North Stars were outshot 46-33 in the win. Joey Fodstad scored the lone goal for the Grizzlies in the losing effort. 
 
Granite City Lumberjacks 7 @ Willmar WarHawks 1 - The Lumberjacks had no trouble taking care of the WarHawks on Saturday night winning in dominating fashion 7-1. Grant Troumbly led the way for the Lumberjacks recording his 3rd hat-trick of the season in the win. Hunter Schwehr was also key scoring two goals and two assists for the Lumberjacks as well. Matt Fitzgerald earned his 3rd win of the season making 13 saves. Elijah Slagter scored the lone goal for the WarHawks. Lucas Ehrlich made 45 saves in the loss. 
 
Wisconsin Whalers 4 @ Wausau RiverWolves 2 - Despite trailing 1-0, the Wisconsin Whalers were able to overcome the RiverWolves and win Saturday night by a score of 4-2. The Whalers scored four unanswered goals between the 2nd and 3rd period and didn’t look back. It was a total team effort for the Whalers receiving goals from four different players. Sam Hanson led the way in the point department scoring a goal and two assists in the win. Kai Tomita earned his 4th win of the season making 27 saves. Garrett Alton and Mitchel Idalski scored the goals for the RiverWolves in the loss. 
 
St. Louis Jr. Blues 6 @ Milwakee Power 5 - A high scoring affair was won by the St. Louis Jr. Blues on Saturday night defeating the Milwakee Power 6-5. Despite trailing for most of the game, the Power took the lead late in the third period before surrendering two goals in the final minute that would eventually send them home. Matthew Monreal scored the game winning goal for the Blues with 20 seconds to play. Will Baginski, who tied the game 30 seconds earlier, recorded two goals for the Blues in the win. Mikael Foucher earned his 7th win of the season making 17 saves. Ethan Dabbs led the way for the Power scoring two goals in the loss. 
 
Butte Cobras 3 @ Missoula Junior Bruins 7 - It was a dominating win for the Missoula Junior Bruins on Saturday night as they dismantled the Cobras 7-3. A tie game going into the 2nd period was broke open by the Bruins in the middle frame scoring four goals. Misha Akatnov and Ty Dittman led the way for the Bruins each scoring two goals in the win. Jim Seielstad and Cade Insko also did their part recording three-point nights as well. Seth Daniel made 12 saves in win. Alec Sorby, Carsten Quam, and Joe Erickson were the goal scorers for the Cobras in the losing effort. The Bruins outshot the Cobras 59-15. 
 
Yellowstone Quake 2 @ Helena Bighorns 6 - The Bighorns swept the weekend series with the Quake winning 6-2 on Saturday night. The Bighorns dominated the play all night long outshooting the Quake 77-19 in the win. Quake Goaltender, Michael Allman stood on his head making a whopping 71 saves in the loss. Abraham Laggis and Darren Donovan led the way for the Bighorns scoring two goals each in the win. Elliot Plourde and Porter Tirrill each had two assists as well. Carver Thompson recorded his 3rd win of the season making 17 saves. Luke Hartge and Wil Yates scored the two goals for the Quake in the losing effort. 
 
Gillette Wild 3 @ Bozeman Icedogs 2 (OT) - It took overtime to settle a very competitive contest between the Gillette Wild and the Bozeman Icedogs. 49 seconds into overtime, Coleman Varty scored his 11th goal of the season to give the Wild the 3-2 win over the Icedogs. Gage Thompson also scored a big goal and added an assist as well for the Wild in the win. Shane Phillips earned his 1st win of the season making 36 saves for the Wild. Hazen McKay recorded both goals for the Icedogs. Aj Ruskowski made 37 saves in the losing effort.
