Warriors lock up NAHL's final playoff berth

March 24, 2011

With their 3-1 win over the Port Huron Fighting Falcons on Wednesday night, the Michigan Warriors clinched the North Division's fourth and final berth - and the North American Hockey League's (NAHL) final berth - to the Robertson Cup Playoffs.

After 55 games, the Warriors hold a 33-16-6 record, good for 72 points - eight points more than the fifth-place Motor City Metal Jackets, who have three games remaining.

The other teams to lock up playoff berths in the North are the St. Louis Bandits (division champions), Traverse City North Stars and Janesville Jets.

The other 12 NAHL teams to clinch playoff berths are the Central Division's Alexandria Blizzard, Bismarck Bobcats, Coulee Region Chill and Owatonna Express; South Division's Topeka Roadrunners (division champions), Amarillo Bulls, Texas Tornado and Wichita Falls Wildcats; and West Division's Fairbanks Ice Dogs (division champions), Alaska Avalanche, Kenai River Brown Bears and Wenatchee Wild.

The NAHL's regular season concludes this weekend.
