Drillers double up Stars on Monday

Gunner Morgan had a goal in a 6-3 win on Monday.

Mid Cities 3 @ Louisiana 6 – The Louisiana Drillers moved back into a 1st place tie in the NA3HL’s South Division thanks to a 6-3 win on Monday over the Mid-Cities Jr. Stars. Six different players scored for the Drillers in the win. The 1st period was a very active one as Louisiana led 3-2 after the opening 20 minutes as Zach Smith, Drew Wotta, and Gunner Morgan all lit the lamp for Mid-Cities, while Josh Linn scored twice for the Stars. In the 2nd period, the Driller went ahead 4-2 on a goal from Blake Siewertsen. The Drillers would secure the 6-3 win with two more goals in the 3rd period from Mitch Dolese and Riley Sloane. Brandon Speights had the other goal for the Stars. Drillers goalie Samuli Aarinen made 27 saves in the win, while Noah Kinsinger took the loss, making 33 saves. Boxscore
