March 1, 2019
The Binghamton Junior Senators of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that Top Prospects forward and captain Eric Melso has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Morrisville State in the SUNYAC Conference.
Melso, 21, is currently in his last season of playing junior hockey in the NA3HL. The 6’0/185 lbs. native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is one of the top scorers in the NA3HL this season. To date, Melso is tied for 3rd in league scoring with 99 points (35 goals, 64 assists).
Melso was also selected to and recently played in the 2019 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament, where Morrisville State coaches were in attendance.
“Morrisville State is getting a quality, solid hockey player and a gritty, tough-noised player who gives it his all for his teammates. Eric leads by example on and off the ice and has been a great captain for a mostly younger team, this season. We can’t wait to follow Eric at Morrisville where he will be a go-to player from year one, we know it,” said Binghamton head coach Anthony Langevin.
Overall in his two year NA3HL career, Melso has recorded 178 points in just 85 NA3HL regular season games.
